Ben Jones is a visual artist from the UK with wide artistic experience in skills like linocut and woodcut printing, digital painting, pixelart, 3D modelling, sculpture and book binding. Requirements:

Enthusiasm for pixelart.  Learners will need to have Aseprite installed; alternatively a mobile device with Dotpict will suffice. Access to Zoom is required.

Explore pixelart from its beginnings, and understand its importance. See how it evolved from a technical necessity into a unique, popular art medium. Study historical examples from R-Type and Pac-Man to Habbo Hotel and Final Fantasy

The course covers the tools and methods you need to master in order to become a pixelartist. It provides practical workshops that gradually teach you how to create and evolve your pixelart, as well as opportunities to put your new skills to the test, and get feedback. 

Pick up skills such as antialising and dithering, and understand the various hardware restrictions and formats that shape pixelart. Discover how to apply the fundamentals of colour theory in order to create beautiful art, and experiment with 1-bit displays.

You will also learn how to animate your pixelart, how to craft strong silhouettes, get to see your work applied to a tamagotchi, and even play a Game Boy game with your sprites.
