How can you direct player interaction and dialogue, while simultaneously creating dynamic narratives? How do narratives integrate with game mechanics, and how do creators guide the evolution of characters in such  situations? Additionally, how do you ensure your stories are easy to localize and debug?

To create an effective game narrative, you will need to work with different types of content, parameter values, and directorial notes. Crucially, you will also need to understand how to work with game designers, writers, and developers within a production.

In this course
, you’ll understand the fundamentals of narrative design by working on your own content, as well as on a selection of well-defined exercises.

You will also learn how to use Homer, a free, web-based, and highly refined narrative design tool.

Lectures, and workshops aside, you will also receive personalized feedback throughout the course. By the end you will have created a complete interactive fiction prototype.
Skills developed: Narrative design, game writing, content design, game design, narrative scripting, creative writing, interactive fiction
